Volodymyr Shchekun¶
A Crimean Plast scout, activist of the Plast movement in Bakhchysarai and Sevastopol, son of Andriy Shchekun; founder of the Plast troop "Shchaslyvi Levy" (Happy Lions) in exile (the village of Shchaslyve, Boryspil district).
Overview¶
Volodymyr Shchekun is a Crimean Plast scout, raised in the Plast movement in Crimea. He joined Plast in Bakhchysarai following his elder brother Oleksiy, thanks to the initiative of his father, public activist Andriy Shchekun. He received active Plast training in Crimean camps and branches. After the russian occupation of Crimea in 2014, he moved to mainland Ukraine, where he founded a new Plast branch — the "Shchaslyvi Levy" (Happy Lions) troop in the village of Shchaslyve in the Boryspil area — continuing Plast traditions in exile.
