Supersonic aviation in Crimea represents the history of the development, testing, and basing of supersonic aircraft and the network of airfields and test centers (Saky, Bagerove, Kacha, Hvardiyske) on the Crimean peninsula, where in the late 1940s the first successful flights breaking the sound barrier in the USSR took place.

Thanks to favorable meteorological conditions, a high number of sunny days, and a well-developed network of naval and research airfields, Crimea became the main base for testing advanced aviation and missile technology in the post-war years. It was in the skies of Crimea, at the airfield near Saky on December 26, 1948, that Kyiv native Oleh Sokolovskyi, flying the experimental La-176 fighter, first achieved a speed of 1105 km/h (exceeding the speed of sound). Later, MiG-17, MiG-19, and Su-15 fighters were tested and based at Crimean airfields, and the "NITKA" naval aviation test facility was developed there.
