Mykhailo Hrechukha

Overview

Mykhailo Serhiiovych Hrechukha (1902–1976) held leadership positions in the government of the Ukrainian SSR during and after the transfer of the Crimean Oblast from the RSFSR to the Ukrainian SSR in 1954. As First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR, he supervised the implementation of Resolution No. 1261 on the development of social infrastructure, schools, and children's institutions in Crimea, and on 2 August 1955 he held a government meeting on the introduction of Ukrainian-language instruction in Crimean schools.
