Dzhafer Seydamet

Dzhafer Seydamet (Dzhafer Seydamet Kyrimer; 1889–1960) was a Crimean Tatar political and statesman figure, one of the leaders of the Crimean Tatar national movement, and served as Minister of Finance and Foreign Affairs in the First Crimean Regional Government under Suleyman Sulkevich.

Overview

Dzhafer Seydamet played a key role in the national self-determination of the Crimean Tatar people in 1917–1918. As part of the First Crimean Regional Government led by General Suleyman Sulkevich, he represented the Crimean Tatar patriotic group, which together with the prime minister strove to build an independent Crimean Tatar state.
