Mizhhirne Reservoir

An artificial off-channel reservoir near the village of Skvortsove on the border of the Simferopol and Saky districts of the Crimea region; one of the largest reservoirs of the Crimean peninsula.

Overview

The Mizhhirne Reservoir was built as part of the implementation of the second stage of the North Crimean Canal (1979–1986). The main purpose of creating this structure was to solve the acute problem of drinking and household water supply to the city of Simferopol and the settlements of the Southern Coast of Crimea using Dnieper water.
