Arslan Akhmatovych

Arslan (Aleksei) Akhmatovych is a lawyer, state and political figure, Minister of Justice in the First Crimean Regional Government led by Suleyman Sulkevych (1918).

Overview

Arslan Akhmatovych came from a noble family of Lithuanian Tatars (Lipka Tatars). In June 1918 he joined the First Crimean Regional Government as Minister of Justice. In the political alignment of the government he supported the course of Prime Minister Suleyman Sulkevych and Dzhafer Seydamet, oriented toward building an independent Crimean state.
