Overview

Oleksandr Ponomarov specializes in the study of the socio-economic history of Ukraine and the diplomatic and trade relations between Ukrainian lands (Zaporizhzhia, the Hetmanate) and the Crimean Khanate in the 18th century.

In a presentation at a 2019 roundtable, he delivered a thorough analysis of the archival documents of TsDIAK of Ukraine, refuting imperial myths about the exclusively conflict-ridden nature of Zaporizhzhian–Crimean relations.
